Will an IVA Stop Phone Calls or Letters from Creditors?

Letters and phone calls from creditors are one of the worse things about being in debt. It is hard to explain why you cannot afford to repay your debts as they fall due and you may feel pressured into making payments which you just cannot afford; but an IVA can stop phone calls and letters from your unsecured creditors.

During the course of the IVA process, your creditors will be contacted in regards to your debt and a creditors meeting will be held which will decide whether or not the IVA is agreed by all parties. When the IVA has been agreed phone calls from creditors should stop. If you do receive any then you should direct them to us and explain that you are on an IVA.

Even after your IVA has been accepted, you may receive further creditor phone calls or letters about the debt which is owed. This is because it could take a while for your creditor’s systems to become fully updated with details about your IVA.

Remember that you can forward all correspondence onto us, once your IVA has been accepted you don’t need to worry about anything as long as you continue to make the payments as stated in your agreement.
